Cape Fear loses vs Richard Bland 3-1

Highlights: Cape Fear Volleyball secured a win against Bryant & Stratton, but fell short against Richard Bland in a long road weekend that solidified their #2 spot in the Region 10 conference standings.

In the first match against Bryant & Stratton, Cape Fear displayed excellent teamwork. With a few key players returning from injury, the team fired on all cylinders - Addy Sechrist led with 13 digs, while Mackenzie Davis contributed 8 kills. Addi Olson added 6 kills, and Olivia O'Kane made a strong comeback with 5 kills. Jordyn Turbeville was a force from the service line, tallying 6 aces—5 of which came in the third set—and adding 7 digs. It was a complete team effort, with contributions from all players, leading to a smooth victory.

However, the second match against Richard Bland proved more challenging. Cape Fear struggled in the serve-and-pass game, which disrupted their offensive flow. Inconsistent serve receive limited the team's ability to find their rhythm on the attack. Despite strong defensive efforts from Quinn Meiser with 17 digs and Mackenzie Davis with 10 digs and 5 kills, the Sea Devils couldn't overcome Richard Bland's pressure. Emma Anderson added 6 kills, and Emma Schwarting contributed 5 kills and 2 blocks, but it wasn't enough to turn the tide.

"Happy with our cohesive team win on Friday, but Saturday's loss is a great tool to take back into the gym for training as we prepare for post-season play," says Head Coach Colby Rosser.
