2010-2011 NJCAA Academic Awards Released

WILMINGTON, NC - NJCAA Headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo., released the names of the 2010-2011 NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards as well as the 2010-2011 NJCAA All-Academic Teams.

The Cape Fear Community College women's volleyball team earned a 3.09 cumulative GPA and was named to the 2010-11 NJCAA All-Academic Team. Rebecca Morris, a Sea Devil women's soccer player, was also recognized for posting an outstanding 3.75 GPA to earn Exemplary Academic Achievement.

Over 1,470 NJCAA student-athletes met the requirements for individual academic honors while over 370 teams qualified for academic team accolades.

The 2010-2011 season marks the 28th year the NJCAA has recognized the success of its student-athletes in the classroom. With minimal changes, the NJCAA academic awards program has been in place since 1983.
