In Short: Cape Fear earned another clean sweep in conference play against the Louisburg College Hurricanes.

Highlights:

After missing out on a few choice matches over the weekend due to the effects of Hurricane Ian, Cape Fear Volleyball went back on the road to take on the Louisburg Hurricanes on their home court. They had beat out the Hurricanes once before on their home court in September and this match was no different on the road.

Cape Fear started off the first set relatively close to the Hurricanes, but were able to put their foot on the gas to finish the match strong and fast. Sophomore Madalyn Rinck finished the night with 6 aces and 15 assists to establish a strong attacking presence for the Sea Devils.

Madie Ballou's high energy on the offensive side gave her team a competitive edge as she finished with 7 kills - earning an impressive 63.6% KP. Kara Walker rounded off the evening with 10 kills to keep the Sea Devils ahead.

Defensively, the Sea Devils were able to lock in and earn 9 total blocks as a team. Freshman DS and Libero Leah Davis earned 15 digs to support Cape Fear's defensive efforts and ultimately finished off the Hurricanes in 3 sets.

"We were tough at the service line throughout the match," says Head Volleyball Coach Colby Rosser. "We started each set tight with the Hurricanes, but we were able to pull away and finish each one with a win."

Up Next: The Sea Devils will travel to Kinston, NC to take on the Lenoir Lancers on Monday, October 10th at 6PM.
