Cape Fear Wins Second Game of Christmas Classic

Bolivia, NC - Cape Fear men's basketball won its second game of the Brunswick CC Christmas Classic, defeating Delaware Technical Community College 110-91.

Jacque Brown led with 21 points and five assists, while Trevor Willis had another strong game off the bench, finishing with 18 points, shooting 4-9 from the 3-point line, and recording five steals. For Delaware Tech, Jashun Greer finished with 28 points, and eight rebounds, while Alex Melikhov scored 26 points, shooting 6-10 from the 3-point line.

The Sea Devils led by just two points at halftime, but outscored Delaware Tech 66-49 in the second half to pull away.

Key tonight was points off of turnovers and points in the paint. Cape Fear scored 28 points off of 20 Delaware Tech turnovers, and scored 42 points in the paint.

Despite the large margin of victory, head coach Ryan Mantlo wants to see more focus from his team.

"We had too many distractions tonight for a championship level team. We did some good things but must value the process."

The win improves Cape Fear to 11-2 on the season. They will wrap up the Brunswick CC Christmas Classic tomorrow night at 8 p.m., where they will take on Bryant & Stratton College.
