WILMINGTON, NC--- The Sea Devil Men's Basketball program begins their road to the 2017 NJCAA D1 National Championship Tournament with their first round game versus Brunswick Community College in Day 1 of the 2017 NJCAA Region 10 Conference Tournament. 

"We're excited to host a first round game in the 2017 NJCAA Region 10 Conference Tournament against the Dolphins [Brunswick CC]. Having the game inside the Schwartz [Center] will provide us home-court advantage that our players will need to feed off if we want to advance. Our main pre-season goal was to get to Hutch for the national tournament but we must take this tournament one day at a time and not look ahead," said Sea Devil Men's Basketball Head Coach Ryan Mantlo. 

Cape Fear enters the 2017 NJCAA Region 10 Conference Tournament as the #4 overall seed, finishing the regular season with a (23-7) overall record, and (7-5) mark in Region 10 Conference Play, including a regular season sweep over Brunswick CC, who enter tomorrow's match-up as the #5 seed, with a (17-13) overall record and (3-9) Region 10 Conference record. 

Leading the way for the Sea Devils entering tomorrow's match-up are a trio of sophomores; Jacque Brown leads the team in points per game at 17.6 and assists per game at 5.8 while adding 3.4rpg and 1.7spg on 53.5% shooting from the floor and team high 47.9% on three pointers. 

Trae Bryant currently ranks second on the team with 17.2ppg while adding 5.5rpg, 4.6apg and 1.6spg on 50.6 FG%, 40.6 3PT% and connecting on 82.5% from the line. 

Alonzo Tyson currently ranks third on the team with 14.8ppg while leading the team with 8.6rpg adding also 1.5bpg on 66.3 FG% and 69.0 FT%. 

Additional role players to also watch in the 2017 NJCAA Region 10 Conference Tournament are Jerick Haynes (12.1ppg, 374 Season Points), Trevor Willis (367 Season Points, 80 Made 3's), Alston Davis (365 Season Points, 124 Made FG's), and Devarte Watson (156 Season Points and 47 Blocks). 

"We are coming off a good practice on Monday, our guys practiced with a lot of energy, a lot of heart, and are focused in all areas leading up to tomorrow,"Mantlo added. 

SCOUTING BRUNSWICK CC

The Dolphins enter with a (17-13) overall record and a (3-9) Region 10 Conference record with a pair of guards averaging double-digit points per game. #24 Bobby Stenborg leads the team with 20.4ppg and 6.8 rebounds per game on 61.6 FG% and 41.5 3PT% in 31 game appearances (30 starts). #14 Saleik Edwards  is the team's second leading scorer at 14.4ppg and 4.2rpg on 44.8% shooting from the floor. 

Brunswick CC has five additional players who have scored over 200 points this season (Hutchinson-280, Gamble-239, Thompson-219, Wray-219, Dailey-208). 

The Dolphins offensively are averaging 89.6 points per game while holding opponents to 61.9; +27.7 scoring margin. The Dolphins also hold a rebounding margin over their opponents as well (BCC-38.8, Opp.-25.3/Game), +13.5 Total Rebounds margin.

The Dolphins are currently on a two game winning streak with wins over St. Ignatois Prep and Clinton (SC); outscoring their opponents (212-172). Brunswick CC has only scored 100 or more points in six games this season in their 31 games played, and are (6-0) in those games, scoring a season high is 125 in their (125-93) victory over Stillwater Christian Prep. 

The Dolphins fell to Cape Fear twice during the regular season, earning the Sea Devils a regular season sweep; January 20, 2017 (L, 82-103), Feburary 22, 2017 (L, 82-103).
