WILMINGTON, NC--- The Sea Devil Men's Basketball program will hit the hardwood and will look to extend their 11 game win streak in a match-up versus rival Brunswick CC on Friday night; Cape Fear is coming off a (103-75) victory over Johnston Community College in their last outing on Monday's "MLK Celebration" game. 

In the win over the Jaguars, the Sea Devils had five players score in double-digit points (Tyson-19, Davis- 19, Haynes-15, Bryant-12, and Brown-12) and as a team shot 45.6 FG% (36-79) and 40.9 3PT% (9-22), while holding Johnston Community College to 37.7 FG% (29-77) and 23.1 3PT% (6-26). 

The two big differences in the game was Cape Fear as a team outrebounded Johnston CC (52-26) and had a +16 scoring margin on second chance points (22-6) over the Jaguars. 

"We are sitting in a good place at this moment in the season. I think we are growing on the defensive end of the floor which could make us a really tough matchup down the stretch," said Sea Devil Men's Basketball head coach Ryan Mantlo in his opening pre-game presser comments leading up to Friday's match-up versus rival Brunswick CC.

In the Sea Devil Men's Basketball program's current 11-game winning streak, Cape Fear's defensive end has held opponents to 41.3 FG% (Highest-52.5, Lowest 34.2), 30.7 3PT% (Highest-41.2, Lowest- 15.8), 72.0 FT% (Highest-87.5, Lowest-79.2), and 11.5 Offensive Rebounds/game (Highest-22, Lowest-2). 

Leading Cape Fear into their match-up against Brunswick Community College are a trio of sophomore players; Trae Bryant leads the team in points per game with (17.4), Jacque Brown leads the way in assists per game with (5.7), and Alonzo Tyson leads the squad in rebounds per game with (7.9). Also leading the way for the Sea Devils are three talented freshman guards: Alston Davis, Jerick Haynes, and Trevor Willis.

Davis enters averaging 13.5ppg and 7.4rpg on 44.3 FG%, 36.0 3PT% , and 69.2 FT%, Haynes comes into the matchup averaging 12.4ppg and 2.0apg on 54.7 FG%, and 42.9 3PT% and Willis in 277 minutes played this season (17 game appearances, 4 starts), has made 57 field goals up to this point in the season (57-142, 40.1 FG%), including 37 made three pointers, and 90.2% on his free throws (37-41). 

"We must win the transition war; Rivalry games are always tough and hard fought. The team that takes care of the ball and wins the transition battle will likely come out on top," added Mantlo when asked what his biggest keys of the game will be against the Dolphins.
