Sea Devils Remain Steady Over Statesmen

(Petersburg, VA) - Cape Fear Men's Basketball is officially 2-0 in conference play after defeating the Richard Bland Statesmen on the road. While the Statesmen's gym was no easy place to play on Saturday afternoon, the Sea Devils prevailed through strong teamwork and play execution throughout two competitive halves of tough basketball.

Knoah Carver scored 13 points and played a key role in supporting his teammates on defense. Truman Claytor also was part of a few pivotal plays that pushed Cape Fear over the finish line in their final moments of play. The score spread was very team-oriented throughout the game as players like Korey Richardson, Daniel Lubamba, and Jalen Jefferson each earned double digits.

"Huge win for us on the road," remarks Head Coach Mark Lane. "We never wavered, we just stuck together. Really proud of these guys."

The Sea Devils will return to Wilmington as they participate in the local Brunswick Holiday Classic Tournament next week on Friday, December 15th versus Chattanooga State at 7 PM.
