Denmark, SC (January 10, 2024) - Cape Fear Men's Basketball played in their first matchup of the new year against the Denmark Tech Panthers on the road. This incredibly close game led to their first loss in conference play thus far this season and puts them at an overall record of 8-4.

The Sea Devils kept the game close throughout both halves, but struggled to make free throws in the final minutes of play. While Cape Fear hustled across both sides of the court to create opportunities for each other, the final score came down to attention to detail and having a concentrated sense of urgency in key moments.

Truman Claytor led in scoring with 16 points while Knoah Carver followed close behind with 15 points for the Sea Devils.

"We came up short in the end, but we know how we need to adjust moving into our next game," says Head Coach Mark Lane. "We'll have another battle this Saturday that we will be ready for."

Cape Fear Men's Basketball will travel to Walterboro, SC to take on USC Salkehatchie in Region 10 Conference play on Saturday, January 13th at 3:00 PM.
