Wilmington, NC (March 3, 2024) - Cape Fear Men's Basketball took the floor of the Joe & Barbara Schwartz Center one last time in Region 10 regular season play as they notched their final win over the Richard Bland Statesmen. The Sea Devils secured the #5 spot right above the Statesmen as they prepare for Region 10 Tournament play in the coming weeks.

Richard Bland kept things interesting with Cape Fear for most of the game as they managed to make a few short scoring runs to either take the lead or close an incredibly tight score gap. But Cape Fear managed their possession well and were able to string together impactful offensive plays to keep their heads above water. The Sea Devils forced over 15 turnovers for the Statesmen to set themselves apart as the game progressed. Cape Fear made the most of their fast break opportunities and out-hustled the Statesmen defensively to lock in their win at the end of regulation.

Khalil Marshall kicked things off as a Sophomore leader with 15 points, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. Truman Claytor had solid contributions with 13 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Korey Richardson had a completely selfless game with 7 assists and 7 rebounds.

Cape Fear Men's Basketball will wait for seeding to finalize as other regular season matchups take place - such as the Richard Bland Statesmen's matchup today against the local Brunswick Dolphins who currently hold the #2 spot in the conference. Once the seeding is finalized, the Sea Devils will travel to Catawba Valley CC in Hickory, NC to take part in the conference tournament on Thursday, March 14th for the quarterfinals.
