Men’s Soccer Falls to Hurricanes

Men’s Soccer Falls to Hurricanes

Score: CFCC 1, Louisburg 7

Location: Louisburg, NC

Record: CFCC 1-3

In Short: The Sea Devils fought hard against the Hurricanes but were unable to recover from the scoring deficit where the match ultimately ended in a loss.

Highlights: CFCC traveled to Louisburg, NC for a rematch with the Louisburg College Hurricanes on their home pitch. The Sea Devils started the match strong with a beautiful cross from Seanpaul Negron (Fr.) to Casey Ly (Soph.), who then assisted Miguel Rubio (Soph.) in scoring their first goal of the match within the first few minutes. However, the Hurricanes were not downcast for long as they were able to tie things up shortly after.

Sea Devils goalkeeper and current NJCAA Division II Goalkeeper of the Week Matthew Baker (Fr.) unfortunately had to exit the match after the Hurricanes' second goal due to injury. After being put in a compromising position by replacing the goalie position with one of the field players mid-match, the Sea Devils were not able to regain their momentum from the beginning of the match and closed out the match in a 1-7 loss.

The Sea Devils players and coaching staff ask that everyone keep our injured goalkeepers in their thoughts as they go through their recovery at this time.

Up Next: CFCC Men's Soccer will take on the Wake Tech Eagles in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, October 9th at 7:00 PM.
