In Short: The Sea Devils endured another grueling Double-Overtime matchup versus conference opponent Camp Community College

Highlights: After recognizing the team's sophomore class during the pre-match Sophomore Night ceremony, the Sea Devils started off the match strong with consistent ball control and seamless transitions between the backline and the attacking midfielders. While they struggled to adjust in offsides scenarios in their offensive third, CFCC was able to isolate Camp's defenders in 2-v-1 scenarios and create a wide variety of attacking opportunities throughout the match. However, the Sea Devils struggled to finish strong as they were unable to put the ball in the net to end the game ahead. While they controlled the ball for most of the match, the Sea Devils' backline also stayed composed on defense and did not compromise their formation as they shut down Camp's attacks harmoniously. Freshman Caleb Woodard and Josue Palacios lead the charge with defensive 1-v-1s in their defensive quadrant for the duration of the match.

While the result was undesirable, the Sea Devils created a myriad of attacking opportunities that will hopefully propel them into locking in for their rematch later this afternoon.

"We didn't show up ready and took them lightly," remarked Head Coach C.W. Ponton. "But no matter how much time any player got on offense it was disappointing that we could not finish."

"We have to put this one behind us as we look to go up to their place now and get a result to secure our spot in the playoffs," says Assistant Coach Nate Torbett.
