Women’s Basketball Defeats USCS Indians

Location: Joe & Barbara Schwartz Center - Downtown Wilmington, NC

Updated Record: 1-2

Score: CFCC 71, USC Salkehatchie 61

In Short: While the USC Salkehatchie challenged Cape Fear throughout the game, the Sea Devils prepared and adjusted accordingly to end the matchup with their first win of the season.

Highlights:

The Sea Devils returned to the Schwartz Center after last week's conference matchup loss ready to prove themselves and showcase their team's ability to activate change. The team knew that they would need to sync up their offensive communication and to stay alert and patient on defense in order to combat the strength and fortitude of the Indians' starting five. The team also continues to build on their team chemistry - making it easier to predict each other's habits and make decision-making on the floor more efficient. Rashauna Grant (Soph.) lead the charge for the Sea Devils on Monday night with 30 points and 16 rebounds under her belt to finish the game.

"It's a step in the right direction," says Assistant Coach Taylor Todd-Williams. "We weren't going to let two losses stop us...we're getting into a rhythm and it's only the beginning."

Up Next: The Sea Devils will head to Martinsville, VA to take on Patrick Henry CC on Friday, November 19th at 6 PM.
