In Short: The CFCC Women's Basketball team finished off a successful week of gameplay with a win over the Fayetteville Technical Community College Trojans.

Highlights: 

While the Sea Devils started the game off with a 13-9 lead in the first quarter, the team recognized that they still needed to meet their high standards of tempo control and adjusted accordingly. The Sea Devils were able to pick up their intensity, force turnovers, work together on defense, and ultimately extend their lead as they approached the end of the first half. The team hustled on both sides of the ball to give each other as many scoring opportunities as possible, though the Sea Devils struggled with their shooting percentage across the board.

Despite their offensive shooting disconnect, this did not discourage the team from working hard on both sides of the court to give their teammates as many shooting opportunities as possible. Through their perseverance, the Sea Devils were able to put up enough shots to extend a massive lead over the Trojans. Sophomore NiAmoni Bagley came in clutch with her aggressive drives to the basket while Rashauna Grant (Soph.) was key in drawing fouls and landing her freethrows.

"I'm proud of how the girls picked up their intensity of defense so we can get out on fast breaks," says Head Coach Trae Bryant. "Defense won us the game today."

Up Next: The Sea Devils have earned some well-deserved time off and will return home to the Schwartz Center this Saturday, December 11th as they prepare to take on conference opponent, Johnston Community College, at 1 PM. This game is a part of a double-header series with Sea Devils Men's Basketball - their game will be played immediately following the Women's matchup at approximately 3 PM.
