Jamestown, NC -- Cape Fear Community College kept its perfect record with a 96-85 win at Guilford Technical Community College Wednesday night. The victory moves the Sea Devils to 5-0, with all five victories on the road.
The Sea Devils make their home debut Friday and Saturday with the Cape Fear Classic. Cape Fear entertains Baltimore City Community College Friday at 7 pm. The Sea Devils then host ASA College Saturday at 3 pm.
Against Guilford Tech, Faronte Drakeford led with Sea Devils with a season-high 27 points. Cape Fear had four other players score in double figures. JT Murphy scored 17 points, Terrance Hampton added 14 while Tony Menton and Phillip Wallace both scored 10.
"It's great to start the season 5-0 on the road, "stated head coach Ryan Mantlo. "Now we get to come home and defend our home turf. Baltimore City and ASA are both high quality programs, so it should be a great test for us."
Through five games, the Sea Devils are averaging 101 points per game and have won each contest by double digits.
