Chesapeake, VA - The Cape Fear Community College men's basketball team defeated Tidewater Community College this afternoon 92-70 in Chesapeake, VA. Leading scorers for the Sea Devils were Landon Atterberry with 19 points, Faronte Drakeford with 15 points and Larry Sumter with 13 points.
CFCC head coach Ryan Mantlo was pleased to see his team perform well and looks forward to the upcoming Homecoming match-ups this weekend. "It's good to get back in the winning column. Hopefully we can carry this momentum into a very important weekend coming up," Mantlo said.
This win breaks CFCC's two game losing streak and boosts CFCC's season record to 14-6 overall. The Sea Devils' next game is on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. vs. Clinton Junior College at home in the Schwartz Center. Cape Fear currently sits one game behind conference leader Spartanburg Methodist in the conference standings. With victories this weekend CFCC would sit atop the leaderboard with 7 games remaining.
