Women's Soccer Routes USC Salkehatchie

Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear women's soccer (10-0, 7-0) routed USC Salkehatchie (0-6, 0-3) by a score of 14-0. Carly Higgins and Ava John each scored hat tricks.

Scoring came early and often for the Sea Devils. Nina Perry opened things up in the 4th minute, assisted by Higgins. John scored her first in the 10th minute off another assist from Higgins.

The next three goals came in as many minutes. Higgins scored her first in the 17th minute off an assist by Perry, then scored her second unassisted a minute later. Sierra Raynor followed up with her first goal of the game in the 19th minute thanks to a nice pass from Alaina Capps.

Raynor scored her second in the 25th minute thanks to Janessa Annis, who then followed up with her only goal of the game 10 minutes later. Higgins then completed her hat trick just before half time, as Carson Hood played her a nice ball.

Abby Setzer scored her only goal in the 54th minute, as Perry tailed her second assist of the game. Sydney Parker then scored her sole goal two minutes later, as Annis picked up her second assist.

John scored her second in the 61st minute. Brought down in the box, she earned a penalty and converted it.

Capps, the team's second leading goal scorer, finally got on the scoresheet in the 66th minute thanks to Carson Hood. John completed her hat trick two minutes later, as Capps provided the assist, her third of the game. Kaila Acuna finished off the scoring in the 70th minute on a good solo effort.

Nine different Sea Devils scored in the game, and five different players provided assists.

Goalkeeper Kenedy Green made one save in the game.

Cape Fear plays next this Wednesday, October 4th, where they will face Wake Tech Community College on the road at 2:30 p.m.
