Women’s Soccer Defeats USC Salkehatchie

Allendale, SC - A day after clinching the #1 seed in NJCAA Region 10, Cape Fear women's soccer defeated USC Salkehatchie 15-0 on the road, setting a record for most goals in a game.

10 different Sea Devils scored on Sunday. Sophomores Sierra Raynor and Alaina Capps each scored hat tricks, while freshman Kaila Acuna scored a brace. Anderson O'Neal, Kenedy Green, Carson Hood, Skyler Giolitti, Nina Perry, Cheyenne Floyd, and Carly Higgins each scored one goal each.

Additionally, three players, C.J. Garvey, Kenedy Green, and Ava John, split time at goalkeeper, earning the Sea Devils' seventh straight clean sheet.

As stated, Cape Fear set a new record for goals in a game with the win. The previous high was 14, set back on October 3rd, 2014.

With another goal today, Higgins has 29 goals on the season. She is three shy of tying the school record of 32 goals in a season, which was set by Jaylyn High in 2011. Capps' three goals gives her 19 for the season, second most on the team.

Cape Fear improves to 14-0 on the season and 11-0 in conference play. Their last regular season game is Thursday, September 19th, where they will take on Patrick Henry Community College on the road at 6:30 p.m.
