Sea Devils Volleyball Preps for NJCAA Tourney

After hosting and winning the Region 10 and Southeast Division Championships in October, the Sea Devils Women's Volleyball heads to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament. The Sea Devils finished their season with a 21-3 overall record and numerous players winning All-Region First and Second Team honors. This season is the first time since 2005 that the Volleyball team has made a National Tournament appearance and the first time that two Fall Season sports (Women's Soccer and Volleyball) have gone to the National Championships during the same season in CFCC Athletics history.

"We're incredibly excited for this opportunity to compete on the National stage," says Head Volleyball Coach Colby Rosser. "The level of competition in our gym over the last few weeks has continued to rise and we look forward to testing our skills against some of the best in the country."

Sea Devils Freshman Kara Walker leads the team in kills this season and was named Region 10 Volleyball Player of the Year. The team will also lean on libero Grace Pulido (Soph.) on defense and Middle Blocker Madie Ballou (Fr.) to give them an edge on attack.

However, the overall performance and depth of the entire Sea Devils team has been tested throughout the season and their performance together further solidifies the entire team is up for the task this week in Cedar Rapids.

The Sea Devils will play in the first round on Thursday, November 18th at 4 PM EST. against Johnson County Community College of the Plains B District. All of the action is available for streaming on the NJCAA Network. For more information on LiveStreaming, visit njcaa.org/network or follow our official Twitter account at @goseadevils.
