Wilmington, NC - Lydia Smith finished with nine kills, while Kate Meagher and Brittani Jefferson combined for five kills apiece as Cape Fear Community College picked up a 3-0 sweep over Central Carolina CC at the Schwartz Center in downtown Wilmington on Thursday.
"We started off a little sloppy, but picked up steam throughout," said CFCC Coach Emily Coleman. "I'm proud of our blocking and will continue to work each day to get better as we get into our conference schedule."
Kaley Evans also recorded two service aces and 19 digs in the win for the Lady Sea Devils, who moved to 2-0 on the year.
Cape Fear opens its Region 10 conference schedule with a trip to Louisburg College on Friday, followed by back-to-back league games Saturday against Guilford CC and Brunswick CC in Bolivia.
