Wilmington, NC - As the Cape Fear Community College volleyball team heads through the thick if its conference schedule, the Lady Sea Devils success over the past two seasons has been directly attributed to the teams attacking ability, with the help of Megan Thomas.

Thomas has played a vital role as Cape Fear's leading passer as the sophomore setter recently recorded her 1,000th assist.

"As a staff and a program, we are so extremely proud of Megan's hard work," said CFCC Coach Emily Coleman. "She has transformed into an extremely dominant setter. Without her, we would not be as successful as we are as a program."

Through 20 matches this season, Thomas has 355 assists, averaging 4.86 per set, with a season-high 35 assists in a 3-1 win over Pitt Community College on Oct. 4. It was in this same game that Thomas recorded her milestone 1,000th assist.

Cape Fear (8-3, 13-7) returns to the court Friday with a road game at Guilford Technical Community College, followed by a home match against Pitt Community College at the Schwartz Center in Wilmington on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.
