Sea Devils Earn Victories

Wilmington, NC - Trailing two sets to none, the Lady Sea Devils came roaring back in the opening match of the day to rally for a 3-2 win over Surry CC.

Lydia Smith led the Cape Fear attack with 15 kills and played a strong game at net with five blocks, while Brittani Jefferson contributed with an all-around effort eight kills, five blocks and five digs. Megan Thomas recorded 24 assists.

"We started off slow and Surry took advantage of it," said CFCC Coach Emily Coleman. "We came back and fought hard to earn a big win."

In the second match of the day, the Sea Devils dominated Brunswick CCC, winning in straight sets. 

Megan Thomas recorded 18 assists while Lydia Smith put in another strong performance, notching eight kills and five blocks.  Libero Kaley Evans tallied 15 digs in the victory.

Cape Fear moved to 6-2 in Region 10 play and 11-6 overall as the Sea Devils get back on the court Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Lenoir CC.
