Men's Basketball Wins Big on the Road in NY

New Rochelle, NY - Cape Fear men's basketball defeated Baltimore City Community College 106-68 on Thursday.

Freshman guard Ryan Friday led the Sea Devils with 21 points. Friday shot 7-for-9 from the field and knocked down 4-of-4 from the 3-point line.

The Sea Devils led 42-33 at the end of the first half, thanks to eight points from Friday, seven from sophomore guard Kwe Parker, and six from sophomore forward Alston Davis. Cape Fear picked up their intensity even more in the second half, outscoring Baltimore City 64-35 in route to the 38 point victory.

Along with Friday, the Sea Devils got strong performances from Davis, who finished with 14 points and six rebounds; Jalen Cameron, who totaled 13 points and four rebounds; Parker, who scored 12 points and knocked down two 3-pointers, and Telligence Johnson, who finished with 10 points and seven assists.

"It was great to see our guys step on the court and dominate today," said head coach Ryan Mantlo.

Cape Fear 49.3 percent from the field, and made 12 3-pointers. They outrebounded Baltimore City 49-35, and assisted on 24 of the team's 36 made field goals.

According to Coach Mantlo, it helped to be injury free for the first time this season.

"We were at full strength for the first time today so I was very pleased with how they meshed together. Now we have to quickly shift our focus to tomorrow's tough game against host Monroe College."

Cape Fear improves to 4-4 on the season.

The game against Monroe College is scheduled for Friday, December 1st at 5:00 p.m., and is part of the Monroe College Classic.
