Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear men's basketball defeated Johnston Community College, 101-78, on Wednesday night. It was the team's second win in as many days.
Zaqwaun Matthews and Donte Tatum, the Sea Devils two top leading scorers on the season, led the way. Matthews led the team with 25, while Tatum finished with 16. Kwe Parker added 14.
Despite winning by a large margin, head coach Ryan Mantlo believes his team could've played better.
"We had too many mental lapses tonight," said coach Mantlo. "We must focus on making every possession tough for the opponent."
Cape Fear improves to 11-6 on the season. Their next game is scheduled for Saturday, January 13th, where they will take on Denmark Technical College at home. Saturday's game is the annual "MLK Celebration game" and is scheduled to tip off at 3:00 p.m.
