Sea Devils Knock off Bryant & Stratton College

Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear women's basketball defeated Bryant & Stratton College 72-59 on Saturday.

Freshman Andreal Bass scored at team high 20 points, while sophomore point guard Madison Ervin scored 12.

While the Sea Devils came away victorious, a slow start left the result in doubt for sometime. However, head coach Lori Drake liked the way her team responded.

"We know that there is a target on our backs every day we come to compete and everyday we step foot in the gym to practice," said Drake. "Today was a good test for us to fight through adversity after coming out very flat in the first half."

Drake pointed to the play of freshman small forward Autum Morings from the bench as a reason for coming away with the win.

"Autum Morings was a huge spark for us off of the bench and that is where she is so great for us."

The Sea Devils move to 8-1 on the season and 6-0 in conference play.

They play next on Saturday, December 16th, where they will take on Johnston Community College at 1:00 p.m. As with all home games this season, the team will play at New Hanover High School.
