Women's Basketball Falls to Georgia Highlands in Double Overtime

Americus, Georgia - Cape Fear women's basketball lost in double overtime to Georgia Highlands College, 79-71.

Dynasty Heyward led the Sea Devils with 19 points and eight rebounds.

"Our ladies put up a great fight tonight against a solid GA Highlands team," said head coach Lori Drake. "We must turn our focus to a very good Shelton State, and prepare for game three of the classic."

Also contributing for the Sea Devils was Madison Ervin, who finished with 16 points and five arounds, and Andreal Bass, who had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Both Ervin and Bass, along with Heyward, played key roles in Friday's close loss to Division I South Georgia Tech.

Cape Fear falls to 9-4 on the season.

They wrap up the weekend tournament with a game against Shelton State Community College on Sunday. Gametime is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
