Women's Basketball Defeats Patrick Henry CC

Wilmington, NC - A strong fourth quarter helped Cape Fear women's basketball defeat Patrick Henry Community College, 83-71, Saturday afternoon.

Five Sea Devils scored in double figures. Andreal Bass led the team with 17 points, and De'najah Porter scored 16. Madison Ervin added 14 points, while Autum Morings and Dynasty Heyward each scored 13.

Bass's strong showing today increased her season scoring average to 15 points per game, while Ervin's 13 puts her average at 11.6. They are the only Sea Devils averaging double figures in scoring.

The win snaps a five game losing streak for Cape Fear.

"We needed this win to get back on track," said head coach Lori Drake. "Our ladies put everything together to pull away from Patrick Henry in the fourth quarter."

Cape Fear improves to 10-6 overall. and 8-2 in conference.

They play next on Wednesday, January 17th, where they will face Lenoir Community College at home at 5:00 p.m.
