Sea Devils Look to Rebound

WILMINGTON, NC--- The Sea Devil Women's Volleyball program returns to the floor with a mid-week Region 10 match-up versus Wake Technical Community College at 6pm (EST) in Raleigh, North Carolina. This will be the first Region 10 conference match for the Sea Devils since they defeated Bryant & Stratton (VA) College on August 27th at the Catawba Valley Community College tournament earlier this season. This will be the first Region 10 conference match for the Eagles since they defeated USC Salkehatchie (3-0) on August 27th at the Catawba Valley Community College tournament earlier this season.

The Sea Devils (3-6 overall) are coming off a five game road trip in Florida highlighted by the Pasco-Hernando State College tournament, where Cape Fear finished (0-5). Cape Fear enters the Region 10 match-up versus Wake Tech Community College with a (3-1) record in Region 10 conference competition. Their lone loss in Region 10 conference play is a (0-3) defeat against Catawba Valley Community College on August 26th, earlier this season.

As for their opponent, the Eagles (11-4 overall) are coming off a weekend split with a (3-1) victory over Patrick Henry Community College, and a (3-1) loss to Walters State Community College.  Wake Tech enters the Region 10 match-up versus Cape Fear Community College with a (3-2) record in Region 10 conference competition. Their two losses in Region 10 conference are a (0-3) defeat against Catawba Valley Community College on August 26th and a (1-3) defeat against Surry Community College later that day.

"They typically have a fast offense and aggressive serving," said Sea Devil Women's Volleyball head Coach Emily Coleman on her opponent Wake Tech Community College in her pre-game presser prior to Wednesday's match-up.

Wednesday's Region 10 conference competition between Cape Fear Community College and Wake Technical Community College is the 17th all-time meeting in school history. The Sea Devils lead the series at (13-3); the two schools split the two regular season match-ups last season. Wake Tech Community College won the first match-up on September 9, 2015, in a five set match (2-3), while Cape Fear Community College won the second match-up at home on October 14, 2015, in a three set match (3-0, (25-18, 25-19, 26-24).
