WILMINGTON, NC--- Sophomore right-side Amber Tyndall of the Sea Devil Women's Volleyball program has announced she has signed a Letter of Intent to play for the UNC-Pembroke Braves' women's volleyball program, a NCAA Division II and Peach Belt Conference member, located in Pembroke, North Carolina. 

"I'm super excited for the opportunity I have to go and make a difference at Pembroke. I can't wait for the competition I'm going to have and to take what I've learned here and apply it with a brand new team! Although, I'm scared to be in a new place, I know that I'm going to love it there, and I already love my new teammates. Everyone at UNC-P was so welcoming and made me feel at home. I am so ecstatic to see what my future holds at UNC-Pembroke and what God has in store for me, Go Braves!", said Amber Tyndall in her opening comments to media members following signing her LOI [Letter of Intent] with the Braves women's volleyball program. 

The Braves women's volleyball program finished their 2016-2017 season with a (3-29, (0-18 in Conference) overall record finishing the season with impressive wins over Emmanuel College (finished the season (9-16, 6-10 in Conference)), St. Andrews (finished 22-15, 15-7 in Conference)), and Shaw University (finished 22-8, 15-1 in Conference)).  

Tyndall will join fellow junior (5-11) returnee Kiara Price and (5-8) junior Aquia Jones (also plays OH) as the primary right-sides as departure of graduating senior of Caroline Pridgen from the program after finishing up her four-year tenure with the team. 

The 2016-2017 Braves women's volleyball team finished this season for a combined 1353.0 Total Points (12.8 Points/Set), 1055 Kills (9.95 Kills/Set), 1541 Digs, .123 Attack%, 997 Assists (9.41 A/S), and 107 Service Aces.

Price, Jones, and Pridgen would finish the season combining for: 48.2% of the team's total points, 50.7% of the team's total kills, 9.5% of the team's total digs, and a combined .437 Attack%. 

The Braves women's volleyball program is led at the helm by third year head coach Ellen McGill. McGill has coached at other successful NCAA four-year as well as NJCAA two-year schools during her time as a coach. McGill most recently was the head coach at Trindad State CC (Trindad, CO). During her six years with the program she would led them to a (96-144) overall record, with four seasons with 19+ wins during her tenure (2011-20 wins, 2012-19 wins, 2013-19 wins, and 2014-25 wins). McGill has also served as an assistant coach with the Catamounts [Western Carolina] women's volleyball program. 

Tyndall finished her career at Cape Fear Community College under the direction of Sea Devil Women's Volleyball head coach Emily Coleman from 2015-2017; appearing in 56 Matches (187 Sets Played) during her two-year tenure on the team.  

"My time here at Cape Fear CC has developed me into the person and player I am today! I wouldn't have been able to accomplish the things I've done here without the constant love and support from my coaches and family. They never gave up on me even when I wanted to give up. I've learned how to be a leader and to always put my team first, and I hope to carry that into my next two years at UNC-Pembroke," added Tyndall. 

As a freshman, Tyndall was part of the Sea Devil Women's Volleyball program that finished the season with a (20-8), (13-3 in Region 10 Conference) record, a record that earned them a semifinals finish in the Region 10 postseason tournament. Tyndall would appear in 28 matches (99 sets played), while adding a 1.60 K/S Ratio (158 Total Kills), .190 Attack%, 12 Digs, and 18 Blocks, for a total of 189.0 Total Points. 

As a sophomore, Tyndall was part of the program that finished the season with a (21-7), (15-1 in Region 10) record, a record that earned them a runner-up finish in the Region 10 postseason tournament. Tyndall appeared in 28 matches (86 sets played) while adding a 2.08 K/S Ratio (179 Total Kills), .187 Attack%, 24 Digs, and 29 Blocks, for a total of 221.0 Total Points. 

Tyndall finished her career with 56 Match Appearances (185 Sets Played), a 1.82 K/S Ratio, .188 Attack%, 36 Digs, 47 Blocks, and 410.0 Total Points.
