Match #12: Cape Fear Community College (11-6) vs Surry Community College

WILMINGTON, NC --- The Sea Devil Women's Volleyball program will look to extend their winning streak to nine matches in a row in the first match of their Saturday afternoon doubleheader versus Surry Community College.
The Sea Devils are coming off a (3-0, (25-18, 25-13, and 25-23) victory over in-conference rival Brunswick Community College on Thursday evening.
"I'm happy with the win, I thought we were very effective in the middle which is something we were working on," said Sea Devil Women's Volleyball head coach Emily Coleman in her post-game presser following the victory over the Dolphins.
Leading the way for the Sea Devils in their match versus the Knights is freshman Outside Hitter Cali Watson, who is coming off a 15.5 Point performance (7 Kills, 1 Assist, 2 Aces, and 2 Blocks), sophomore OH/Middle Blocker Bailey Toman (8.5 Points, 8 Kills, and 6 Digs), and sophomore libero Chelsea Bailey (14 Digs) in their match versus Brunswick CC.
As for the Knights, leading the way is sophomore Middle Hitter Jessi Marion, who is coming of a 12.5 Point performance (5 Kills, 6 Aces, and 1 Block), freshman Outside Hitter Anika Thomas (9 Digs), and freshman Setter McKenzie Parker (10.0 Points, 3 Kills, 23 Assists, 5 Aces, and 1 Block).
With a win over Surry Community College, the Sea Devils would set a new record under head coach Emily Coleman's tenure with the longest active win streak with nine matches won in a row.
The Sea Devils are (5-0) against the Knights with head coach Emily Coleman at the helm for Cape Fear Community College.
"Surry always plays us tough, so we cannot come in and think since we've already beat them that they will roll over," said head coach Emily Coleman.
Following the match versus Surry Community College, the Sea Devils will return to the floor later on Saturday afternoon at 3pm (EST) versus doubleheader host Brunswick Community College.

WILMINGTON, NC--- The Sea Devil Women's Volleyball program will close out their Saturday doubleheader versus Brunswick Community College coming off their earlier match against Surry Community College this afternoon.
"We need to continue to stay together, and push as a team. We will need to continue to execute and pass effectively," said Sea Devil Women's Volleyball head coach Emily Coleman prior to their match versus the Dolphins.
The Sea Devils are (4-0) against Brunswick Community College in their all-time meetings under head coach Emily Coleman's tenure, winning 12 out of the 13 sets played.
Leading the way for the Sea Devils in their match versus the Dolphins are sophomores Amber Tyndall and Chelsea Bailey, along with freshmen Payton Schoenleber, and Ali Jenkins.
As for the Dolphins, they are led by freshman Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist Allie Cunningham, sophomore Middle Hitter Alexcia Sternberg, and sophomore DS Katelyn Hollandsworth.
At the helm for Brunswick Community College is head coach Morgan Kirby, who is in her first year with the program and has led the team to a (2-5-1) record.
Following the match versus Brunswick Community College, the Sea Devils will return to the floor on Tuesday, October 18th, versus the Bulldogs of Pitt Community College. Match time is scheduled for 6:00pm (EST) inside of the Schwartz Center; the Sea Devils defeated the Bulldogs earlier in the season in a (3-0, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22) victory at Pitt Community College.
