Sea Devils Secure 11-0 Record vs Guilford Tech

Wilmington, NC (January 18, 2024) - Cape Fear Women's Basketball returned to the Schwartz Center for the first time in the 2024 leg of their season against the Guilford Tech Titans. After a long first half of the season dealing with sicknesses, foul trouble, and injuries, the Sea Devils once again stepped foot onto the court with limited numbers. Against all odds on paper, Cape Fear's teamwork and determination won them yet another Region 10 Conference game.

The Titans managed to sift through a few gaps in the Sea Devils' defense to make shots under the basket throughout the game, but Cape Fear had 11 steals overall that each led to a fast break play that either landed a bucket for the Sea Devils or put one of our players on the foul line. Cape Fear continues to dominate defensively and push the pace in transition - widening the score gap to 20 points over the Titans for the majority of the game.

Jaci Bolden had her season high of 34 points along with 5 assists and 1 steal. Ciarra Sims came in clutch under the basket with 8 rebounds and 14 points, along with 4 steals and 3 blocks. Kelly Holmgren is a consistent workhorse for Cape Fear with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals.

"I would say this is one of our team's best performances of the season so far," says Head Coach Taylor Todd-Williams. "They're really learning how to play together - especially when we have people out unexpectedly due to sickness or injury. Shoutout to Jaci and Kelly for stepping up in key moments out there."

Cape Fear Women's Basketball will go back on the road to play Fayetteville Tech on Saturday, January 20th at 2 PM in Fayetteville, NC.
