Women's Basketball Notches 16th win over Johnston

Smithfield, NC (February 12, 2024) - Cape Fear Women's Basketball went back on the road on Sunday afternoon to take on the Johnston CC Jaguars in Smithfield, NC. The Sea Devils continue to sit at the top of the Region 10 Conference alongside Bryant & Stratton (VA) - where CFCC holds an overall 16-1 record compared to the Bobcats' 18-1.

The Sea Devils started the game at a slower pace than normal and encountered miscommunications that led them to turn the ball over more often towards the beginning of the game. However, Cape Fear snapped back into focus midway through the first half and began racking up points. Their defensive prowess led them to increased fast break opportunities, which has consistently been the bread and butter for the Sea Devils this season, and ultimately led them to a massive victory over the Jaguars.

"We're going to keep working hard in conference play," says Head Coach Taylor Todd-Williams. "We've got one more road matchup this week, and then we are very excited to come home to the Schwartz Center for the next few games."

CFCC Women's Basketball will travel to Jamestown, NC on Wednesday, February 14th to take on Guilford Tech at 5 PM.
