Wilmington, NC (February 26, 2024) - Cape Fear Women's Basketball took on the Catawba Valley Redhawks tonight in part of their re-scheduled Region 10 Conference matchup that was set to take place earlier in the season. The Sea Devils battled it out in the Schwartz Center to bring in another conference win at home as they finish out the regular season this week.

Both teams struggled to find their rhythm offensively throughout the first two quarters of play - turning over the ball more often than normal and failing to make easy buckets. But the difference maker was that the Sea Devils have always had solid defensive communication and connection, especially on their home court. Cape Fear managed to get stops that Catawba could not answer for and closed out the game with a win.

Jaylah Henderson led the way to victory for the Sea Devils with 18 points and her typical defensive tenacity that forced consecutive turnovers in favor of Cape Fear. Ciarra Sims continues to develop solid skills under the basket as she finished with 10 points and the majority of the Sea Devils' offensive rebounds.

"We are still working on putting all 4 quarters together, and I have great respect for Catawba Valley's program," says Head Coach Taylor Todd-Williams. "Overall, I'm glad we finished tonight with a win and we look forward to showing up and competing hard in our next game on the road."
