Cape Fear Meets Last Years Record of 13-0 Over RBC

Petersburg, VA (January 25, 2024) - Cape Fear Women's Basketball extends their winning streak as they go 13-0 (11-0 in Region 10 Conference play) over the Richard Bland Statesmen in yesterday's Wednesday night matchup. The Sea Devils have now tied last season's 13-0 hot streak as they had their best season start in CFCC Women's Basketball history in the 2022-2023 season. Head Coach Taylor Todd-Williams also claims her place as one of Cape Fear Women's Basketball's most successful first-year head coaches. Coach Todd-Williams and her squad managed to cap off their 13th straight win over the Statesmen, who were last season's Region 10 Conference Champions.

The Sea Devils managed to start the first half of the game strong, but the Statesmen managed to get on a run between the second and third quarters of the matchup, as they continue to remain strong as defending conference champions. However, Cape Fear maintained their composure and were able to climb their way back to the top as they finished the fourth quarter 23 points to 15.

Jaci Bolden led with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. Ciarra Sims led defensively with 10 rebounds to accompany her 13 points. Demya Chisholm forced 6 steals against the Statesmen, while Jaylah Henderson rallied for 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals.

"We played great team ball tonight," says Head Coach Taylor Todd-Williams. "We kept it together through Richard Bland's run and closed out the game strong."

Cape Fear Women's Basketball will continue their road stint as they travel to Cedar Bluff, VA to take on Southwest Virginia on the road this Saturday, January 27 at 2 PM.
