Hickory, NC - The Sea Devils closed the Region 10 Extravaganza on Saturday with back-to-back victories to finish 3-1 during the weekend tournament in Hickory.

Coming off their first loss of the season, Cape Fear outlasted Surry Community College with a 15-11 result in the decisive fifth game, while the Sea Devils made easy work of Guilford Tech to pick up a straight set sweep in the afternoon contest.

Tress Amico recorded nine kills and 10 blocks in the opener. Sydney Robinson had 11 kills and Faryn Salazar set up the attack with 35 assists.

"Surry is a great team and they fought for every point," said CFCC Coach Emily Coleman. "I'm proud of the girls trusting in our team. We played very clean and kept it simple against Guilford. It was exciting to see them tryout some things throughout the match."

Amber Tyndall was the heavy hitter in game two with nine kills and Michelle Escue finished with 20 assists. Chelsea Bailey also stayed strong on the defense with 14 digs.

Cape Fear improved to 5-1 in conference and 6-1 overall. The Sea Devils head to Raleigh for a date with Wake Tech on September 8.
