Cape Fear Clinches Second Seed With Victory

Kinston, NC - Two of the top three volleyball teams in the Region 10 Conference squared off on Wednesday night as Cape Fear Community College wrapped its 2015 regular season road schedule with a trip to Kinston for a date with Lenoir Community College.

After pulling out a five-set thriller against Lenoir back in early September, the Sea Devils again earned a 3-2 victory to grab their fourth straight result.

"This team is the definition of resilient," said CFCC Coach Emily Coleman. "We went down one set, fought back to take set two after making a couple changes, went down set three and came back on fire in set four. This team never gives up."

Amber Tyndall had a team-high 13 kills, while Rachel Braunschweig contributed nine kills and 21 digs in the defense. Faryn Salazar led the passing game with 32 assists.

Cape Fear now has sole possession of the two-seed atop the standings with one game to play in the regular season. The Sea Devils improved to 13-3 in the division and 18-7 overall heading into their home finale against Brunswick Community College on Thursday, Oct. 29.
