Volleyball Drops Pair In Florida

Pasco Hernando, FL - Cape Fear Community College surrendered a pair of 3-0 sweeps to Indian River Community College and St. Petersburg Community College as the Sea Devils opened tournament play in Florida on Friday.

"Indian River is a solid team with a diverse offense," said CFCC Coach Emily Coleman. "We have to do a better job controlling our first touches on the ball to ensure our success in the future."

Sydney Robinson led Cape Fear with five kills and Rachel Braunschweig added 11 digs the opener. Bailey Toman recorded six kills and six digs in the setback to St. Petersburg, while Braunschweig stayed consistent on defense with 20 digs.

The Sea Devils fell to 6-4 overall and wrap up play in the Sunshine State with two matches on Saturday. Cape Fear faces Florida College at noon and Pasco Hernando State College at 2 p.m.
