Cape Fear Drops Two

Pasco Hernando, FL - The road trip to Florida ended without a result for the Cape Fear Community College volleyball team as the Sea Devils dropped a pair of 3-0 matches on Saturday.

Cape Fear dropped to 6-6- overall and remain 4-2 in conference.

Tressa Amico led the attack against Florida State College with eight kills, while Chelsea Bailey had 12 digs in the defense. Amico also had for blocks at net.

In the afternoon contest, Cape Fear went down two games to none before battling back in the third set, ultimately falling 26-28 in the finale.

"I really proud of the way we battled back against Pasco Hernando," said CFCC Coach Emily Coleman. "They are talented team that definitely pushed us to play clean. This tournament showed us where we want to go as a team and what we need to do to get there."

Faryn Salazar was impressive setting the attack with 22 assists in the second match of the day. Sydney Robinson added seven kills and Chelsea Bailey finished with 10 digs.

The Sea Devils return to action at home against Pitt Community College on Thursday, September 17.
