Cape Fear Plays to Draw With USC Salkehatchie

Allendale, SC - Cape Fear Community College opened a brief two-game road trip on Monday and played to a 1-1 draw with USC-Salkehatchie in matched that went two overtime periods in Allendale, South Carolina.

Andrew Goodman put the Sea Devils ahead off an assist by Ian Burris just before the break, but USC-Salkehatchie found the equalizer in the 52nd minute. 

"It was a very frustrating day," said CFCC Coach Chris Libert. "We were all over them, but just couldn't put the final nail in the coffin. I was very pleased with our efforts as a team today."

Cape Fear held a 20-8 shot advantage in the match and defender Andrew Barton almost ended the game in extra time when his header off a corner kick hit the cross bar.

The Sea Devils moved to 3-6-2 in conference and 6-6-2 overall. Cape Fear travels to Richard Bland College in Petersburg, Virginia on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
