WILMINGTON, NC --- The Sea Devil Men's Soccer program returns to the pitch on Saturday afternoon for a Region 10 match-up versus USC Salkehatchie from Allendale, South Carolina. Cape Fear is playing in their first game since their (0-6) defeat to CCBC Essex on Saturday, October 8th.

"Our team knows what it takes to be a class act on, and off the field, and I appreciate that. We also know how to put up a fight against anyone at anytime. My hope is that we are in the face with high intensity of every team we play the rest of the season. We are taking it day by day and embracing the beautiful game," said Sea Devil Men's Soccer head coach C.W. Ponton, prior to their Saturday match versus USC Salkehatchie from Allendale, South Carolina.

USC Salkehatchie enters the match with a (5-8-1) overall record, and (3-3-1) in Region 10 Conference record, as the winners of two straight matches. In their winning streak, they have outscored their opponents (3-0) in their two game winning streak. The Indians are (2-4) in home matches this year during the 2016-2017 under head coach William Glass.

The Indians are led by a trio of offensive players, who have each scored three goals this season; freshman forward Adolfo Aquilar (3 Goals, 1 Assist, 7 Total Points), freshman center Jonas Castelhano da Silva (3G, 1A, 7 Points), and freshman forward Deandre Johnson (3 Goals, 1 Assist, 7 Total Points).

Defensively, the Indians have an experienced upperclassmen led unit, highlighted by Maximillian Fischer (10 Game Appearances), Gabino Navarrete (12 Game Appearances), and Romario Pessoa (12 appearances; 11 starts).

As for the Indian netminders, they have four players who have played (Ryan Diehl, Trevor Griffith, Blaize McGinnis, and Erick Guimaraes Cavalcante).

Leading the netminders is freshman Erick Guimaraes Cavalcante, has recorded the lowest Goal Against Average at 0.89 GAA in his five game appearances (5 starts), with 21 saves (.840 Save%) in 405:00 minutes played. Another Indians' netminder to watch is sophomore Blaize McGinnis, who has recorded the second lowest GAA, at 1.97 GAA in his seven game appearances (6 starts), with 12 saves (.632 Save%) in 320:00 minutes played.
