WILMINGTON, NC --- The Sea Devil Women's Basketball program hits the road for a mid-week evening contest versus Fayetteville Tech Community College on Wednesday from Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Cape Fear will look to bounce back after suffering two road defeats over the weekend agaisnt South Georgia Technical College (42-58), and Wallace State Community College (40-70) in the Lady Jets Tournament from Americus, Georgia.
"We need a big turn around after taking two tough losses over the weekend. Our ladies are hungry and ready to start conference play this week and we are focusing on FTCC and knowing that we learned a lot from our weekend in Georgia," said Sea Devil Women's Basketball head coach Lori Drake in her pre-game presser leading up to Wednesday's game versus the Trojans.
Cape Fear enters the game with a (1-2) overall as they enter their first conference game versus Fayetteville Tech CC; while the Trojans enter with a (3-1) overall record into Wednesday's game.
As for their opponent, the Trojans are coming off a (107-36) home victory over Johnston Community College on Monday evening. Leading the way was freshman Brandi Paige Castin, who scored 24 points, to lead all Trojan scorers, along with fellow freshmen Monet Turnipseed and Amarilis Casiano-Floyd, who added 16 points individually.
This is the first all-time meeting between Cape Fear Community College, and Fayetteville Tech Community College.

Made 17 game appearances while making 1 start in her freshman season with the Sea Devil Women's Basketball program after arriving to the school after playing her high school prep career in Williamston, NC. Bland averaged 3.1 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game, 0.8 assists per game, and 0.9 steals per game, while shooting 37.2% from the field, 16.7% on three pointers, and 76.9% from the free throw line.
Bland was part of the 2015-2016 team that finished (27-3) on the year that was highlighted by many accomplishments that included a (12-0) mark in Region 10 Conference, that earned them a regular season and conference tournament Region 10 Championship, a 6th place finish in the 2016 NJCAA Division I Championship Tournament, and a 26 game win streak from November 13, 2015 to March 16, 2016.
