Sea Devil WBB Inks Autum Morings

WILMINGTON, NC--- Head Coach Lori Drake and the Sea Devil Women's Basketball program announced that Bertie HS senior forward Autum Morings signed her National Letter of Intent to suit up for the Sea Devil Women's Basketball program and join the 2017-2018 Recruiting Class.

"Autum brings length, speed, grit and hard work to our squad. Autum is a player that gets 5 steals a game, so we have high expectations for her coming in and being a huge defensive threat for us. Autum has the ability to score inside and out, which will be big for us next season. We are excited to have Autum joining our Sea Devil family," said Drake in her opening comments when asked about what Morings will bring to the Sea Devil Women's Basketball program.

Morings is currently averaging 11.9 points per game, 10.1 rebounds per game, 1.5 assists per game, 5.2 steals per game, and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting 36% from the floor, and 48% from the free throw line.

Morings's senior season highlight came on December 27 in a (54-37) victory over Northeastern HS; she recorded a season high of 18 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 6 steals.

Morings has been a four-year member of the varsity team under head coach Kelvin Hayes; the Falcons currently sit at (22-1) and (11-0 in Conference) and will play in their regular season finale on Friday versus in-state rival Hertford County HS, tip-off is scheduled for 6:30pm (EST).

"Cape Fear felt at home. I love how physical and fast the tempo is, and their game suits my game. Can't wait to put on a Sea Devil uniform," said Morings when asked what she likes about the Sea Devil Women's Basketball program.
