WILMINGTON, NC--- The Sea Devil Women's Basketball will end their South Carolina road trip on Sunday afternoon versus Spartanburg Methodist College. Cape Fear will put their five game winning streak on the line in Sunday's match-up versus the Pioneers following their (78-75) win on Saturday afternoon.
Desaree Green finished as the team's leading scorer with 20 points, as TaKwana Bland finished with 14 points, Destiny Campbell added 13 points, and Taylor Foulks contributed 11 points off the bench for the Sea Devils.
With that win, Head Coach Lori Drake picked up her 59th career win at Cape Fear Community College at the helm of the Sea Devil Women's Basketball program.
The Sea Devils enter Sunday's match-up with a (6-2) overall record and (5-0) in Region 10 Conference record. Cape Fear Women's Basketball program is led by Lori Drake who is coaching in her fourth overall season with the program, fifth year Volunteer Assistant Coach Taylor Goodrich, and first year Volunteer Assistant Coach Danielle Bongiorno, the former Lenoir-Rhyne women's basketball standout.
As for the Pioneers, they are coming off a (90-76) home win over Clinton Junior College on Thursday evening. Leading the way for the Pioneers were Deja Marshall, Americal Jenkins, and Keyotta Garris. Marshall finished as the Pioneers' leading scorer with 20 points, Jenkins added 18 points on (8/17- 47.1 FG%), and Garris added 8 points off the bench.
The Pioneers, enter Sunday's match-up with the Sea Devils with a (3-6) overall record and (0-1) in Region 10 Conference record. Spartanburg Methodist Women's Basketball program is led by sixth year head coach Briana Clark (Record at SMC: (75-80), and Assistant Coach Will Sims, the former Dorman High School standout.
Sunday afternoon's match-up between the Sea Devils and the Pioneers is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (EST) from Bridges Arena in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
