WILMINGTON, NC --- The Sea Devil Women's Soccer program looks to remain undefeated on the season Saturday afternoon, and improve to (2-0) in Region 10 Conference play. Salkehatchie on the other hand looks for their first win of the 2016-2017 season. Cape Fear is coming off a (3-0) victory over Patrick Henry Community College, while USC Salkehatchie is coming off a (0-9) defeat against Louisburg College.
"We have to continue to use every day to improve. Our goal is to be better Saturday than we were two weeks ago when we opened our season vs Frederick. We are excited to take the pitch on Sea Devil Soccer Fan/Parent Appreciation Night," said Head Coach Ryan Deppa.
Kickoff for Saturday's Region 10 Conference match-up between the Indians of USC Salkehatchie and the Sea Devils of Cape Fear Community College from Legion Stadium is scheduled for 6:00pm (EST).
LAST TIME OUT
The Sea Devils defeated Patrick Henry Community College (3-0) in their Region 10 opener last Saturday afternoon at Legion Stadium. Cape Fear got on the scoreboard first as sophomore forward Alyssa Coustenis found the back of the net in the 22nd minute. Sophomore Jenna Pecorini would score in the second half, in the 58th minute, after she received a pass from Sierra Raynor, and freshman Janessa Annis would cap off the scoring in the 82nd minute. The biggest takeaway from their (3-0) victory over Patrick Henry Community College was that the Sea Devils held the Patriots to only 7 shots in 90 minutes, while Cape Fear recorded 26 shots in 90 minutes.
