WILMINGTON, NC--- The Sea Devil Women's Soccer program returns to the pitch in their first game in the 2016 NJCAA Region 10 Conference Tournament in a semifinals match-up versus Patrick Henry Community College, with the winner advancing to the tournament finals on Sunday.

Kick-off for the 2016 NJCAA Region 10 Conference Tournament Semifinals between Patrick Henry Community College and Cape Fear Community College from WRAL Sports Park in Raleigh, North Carolina, is scheduled for 12:00pm (EST) on Saturday, October 29.

The Sea Devils enter the game with a (14-1) overall record, and (11- 1) in Region 10 Conference play; their lone loss came on the road to their Saturday opponent, the Patriots of Patrick Henry Community College. Cape Fear fell earlier this season by a score of (0-2) on Wednesday, October 12, to the (13-5-1) overall, and (7-4-1) in Region 10 Conference play, Patriots Women's Soccer program.

The Sea Devils defeated the Patriots in their first meeting this season by the score of (3-0) at home on Saturday, September 3rd. Sophomores Alyssa Coustenis, and Jenna Pecorini, each netted a goal in that match, while freshman Janessa Annis, added the third goal (4th of the season); while freshman netminder Elizabeth Ethridge held the Patriots' offensive attack scoreless stopping all six shots she faced in 90:00 minutes of play.

"I am very pleased that through the season we have grown closer as a team. I am also pleased that based on our talent, and skill sets we've been able to evolve with how we play the game. We can give different looks and play different styles when the game calls for it. Our back line, and our keepers continue to not only keep us in games, which on the flip-side plays a major role in helping us create goals. I am very proud of our players as they continue to work hard for each other," said Sea Devil Women's Soccer head coach Ryan Deppa prior to Saturday's match versus Patrick Henry Community College in his pre-game presser.

Leading the way offensively for the Sea Devils are Alyssa Coustenis, Sierra Raynor, Janessa Annis, Alaina Capps, and Jenna Pecorini.

Coustenis, leads all goal scorers with 15 regular season goals, and also has tailed seven assists, for a total of 37 Points in her 15 game appearances (11 games started).

Raynor, was the team's second leading scorer with 14 goals, and finished first in assists with 10 while making 13 game appearances and 9 starts.

Annis, the freshman midfielder, finished as the team's third leading scorer with 7 goals, and finished the regular season with 3 assists, for a total of 19 Points in her 10 game appearances and 7 starts.

Capps, the Clinton, North Carolina native, had a strong freshman season recording 6 goals, and 7 assists, in her 14 game appearances while making 10 starts.

Pecorini, the sophomore Fox Lake, Illinois native, recorded 6 goals, and 3 assists, in her 15 game appearances while making 11 starts.

The Sea Devils offensively as a team recorded 65 goals in the regular season, with 15 players scoring at least one or more goals.

Defensively, an experienced led group of midfielders and defensemen have done their part this season holding opponents scoreless in 9 out of the 15 regular season games. The experienced midfield unit of Emily Valenti, Raime Cooper, Allyson McLamb, Emily Bessey, and Gabby Serpa led the way; while freshmen defensemen of Noemi Mata, Sydney Parker, Celine Jacobi Barham, and Briley Eason have had strong seasons alongside sophomores
Amanda Doherty and Maranda Oliver in the regular season games this season.

Freshmen goalkeepers Elizabeth Ethridge and Kenedy Green have had strong seasons in each of their appearances in net during the regular season games this season.

Ethridge, has made 14 game appearances on 10 earned starts this season, for 907:06 minutes played; while contributing a 0.50 Goal Against Average on only 5 goals allowed on 56 shot attempts (51 Saves, .911 Save %).

Green, has made 10 game appearances on 5 earned starts this season, for 442:54 minutes played; while contributing a 0.61 GAA on only 3 goals allowed on 26 shot attempts (23 saves, .885 Save%).

Sea Devil Women's Soccer head coach Ryan Deppa addressed that the biggest keys to victory against the Patriot Women's Soccer team are, "Be prepared, rested, and focused."

As for the Patriots, they are (7-1) in their last eight outings, in all seven wins Patrick Henry has shutout their opponents while scoring 15 goals themselves. The Patriots defeated the Eagles of Wake Tech Community (3-0) in the NJCAA Region 10 Conference Tournament's Play-In Game on Wednesday, October 26.

The Patriot offensive attack is led by freshman midfielder/forward Monica Brown, who has recorded 8 goals and 2 assists in her 15 game appearances on 15 game starts this season. Also leading the way is freshman forward Naysa Sanchez, who has recorded 4 goals and 4 assists in her 17 game appearances on 14 game starts.

Patrick Henry has 13 players who have scored at least one or more goals this season for head coach Larry Wylie, and his coaching staff.

The Patriots have a trio of freshmen goalkeepers who each have made appearances this season; Sabrina Amos leads the way with 17 games played, with a 1.14 Goal Against Average while saving 83 shots on a .847 Save%, Grace Turpin, has made the second most appearances with 12, has a 0.50 GAA on 22 Saves (.880 Save%), and Taylor Henderson has made1 game appearance with a 0.00 GAA in her 4:25 minutes played.
