WILMINGTON, NC --- The Sea Devil Women's Soccer program returns to the pitch on Saturday afternoon for a Region 10 match-up versus USC Salkehatchie from Allendale, South Carolina. Cape Fear is playing in their first game since their (0-2) defeat to Patrick Henry Community College on Wednesday, October 12. The loss to the Patriots on Wednesday was the first for the Sea Devil Women's Soccer team this season, dropping them to (10-1) on the year.

"We have been tested in the past week, and will continue to be tested next week. If we continue to be willing to find value in the experiences, and take the needed actions to grow from them, we will continue to improve," said Sea Devil Women's Soccer head coach Ryan Deppa, prior to their Saturday match versus USC Salkehatchie.

Leading the way offensively for the Sea Devils are freshman midfielder/forward Sierra Raynor (12G, 10A, 34 Total Points), sophomore forward Alyssa Coustensis (10G, 3A, 23 Total Points), freshman forward Janessa Annis (7G, 5A, 19 Total Points) and sophomore forward  Jenna Pecorini (5G, 2A, 12 Total Points).

Defensively, sophomore Amanda Doherty. freshman Briley Eason, and freshman Celine Jacobi Barham are leading the way for the Sea Devil Women's Soccer program through the first 11 games this season.

As for the Sea Devil freshman netminders, Elizabeth Ethridge and Kenedy Green  have recorded a combined 11 game appearances,  0.55 Goal Against Average on 63 Saves (.913 Save%) in 990:00 minutes played.

As for their opponents, the Indians of USC Salkehatchie enters the match with a (0-11) overall record, and (0-6) in Region 10 Conference record. The Indians are (0-3) in home matches this year during the 2016-2017 under head coach William Glass.

The Indians are led by a duo of offensive players, who have each scored one goal each this season; sophomore forward Vannia Moreno Gil (1G, 1A, 3 Total Points in 10 game appearances with 9 starts), and freshman forward Amber Rutledge (1G, 1A, 3 Total Points in 10 game appearances with 10 starts).

Defensively, the Indians have a focused freshmen unit, highlighted by freshman Shelly Haynes (10 game appearances, 4 starts), Angelica Manzo Ramirez (10 game appearances, 8 starts), Taylor Montjoy (10 game appearances, 9 starts), and freshman America Tierrablanca (10 game appearances, 3 starts)
