Melbourne, FL --- The #11 seeded Sea Devil Women's Soccer program will begin their road for a national championship on Monday afternoon in their opening game versus Butler Community College.

The Sea Devils are making their first ever appearance in a NJCAA D1 Women's Soccer National Championship Tournament since the program started in 2006-2007 season.

"We continue to evolve on the field, and continue to have players do what is needed to be good teammates off the field, in training and at game time," said Sea Devil Women's Soccer head coach Ryan Deppa in his pre-game presser.

Cape Fear earned their spot in the 2016 NJCAA D1 Women's Soccer National Championship Tournament after defeating Harford Community College in the 2016 District L Championship last weekend. 

The Sea Devils enter the tournament with a (17-1) overall record, and (11-1) in Region 10 Conference Play; Butler Community College enters the tournament with a (20-2) overall record, and a (12-0) in Region 6 Conference Play. 

Kick-off for Monday's match for the Sea Devils versus Butler CC is scheduled for 12:30pm (EST).

"Coach Murray and I continue to be impressed with the commitment our players have to the program, and the positive energy they bring when we are together. Our team knows that what they did last Sunday in District L Championship was special, but they also know that it is all the prior work on and off the field leading up to it that helped give them an edge when they earned the moment to compete against a very good Harford CC team."
