Women's Soccer Remains Unbeaten on the Season

Louisburg, NC - Thanks to a hat trick from freshman Sierra Raynor, the Cape Fear women's soccer team defeated Louisburg College 5-1 to remain unbeaten on the season. Freshman Ashley Carter and Alyssa Coustenis also scored.

Raynor would score two goals in the first half. The first would come thanks to a penalty kick, while her second was assisted by freshman Alaina Capps.

The Sea Devils would enter halftime with a 2-1 lead. Louisburg's first half goal was the first goal allowed by Cape Fear all season.

In the second half, Raynor would complete her hat trick off a nice assist by freshman Janessa Annis.

Later, Carter would score, assisted by sophomore Raime Cooper.

Coustenis would score the team's final goal with a composed finish, set up by a brilliant pass from Capps.

"They did a great job on the road," said head coach Ryan Deppa after the game.

With the win, Cape Fear improves to 8-0 on the season, and 6-0 in conference. Entering today's game, they were ranked #12 in the nation.

Their next game is October 3rd, as they will face off against Spartanburg Methodist on the road at 4:00 p.m.
