Sea Devils Lose Third Straight

Allendale, SC - Cape Fear Community College pressed in the second half, but could not find the answer as USC-Salkehatchie used two scores in the opening 45 minutes of the match in 2-0 win in Allendale, S.C. early Saturday afternoon.

The Indians used a 28th minute free kick from 20 yards and a 40th minute goal to defeat CFCC. The Sea Devils out shot USC-Salk 7-3 and missed out on their best chance to find the back of the net in the 76th minute when David Segura's free kick was tipped just over the bar.

"Soccer can be very cruel sometimes and I felt we had the better part of the play all day," said CFCC Coach Chris Libert. "They capitalized on a set piece and a pass back mistake and we didn't finish. We had our chances and they did a great job killing the clock. It just wasn't our day."

The Sea Devils dropped to 1-3 in conference and 5-3 overall. CFCC continues its road trip Tuesday, Sept. 23 at USC-Lancaster.
