Cape Fear Suffers Set Back

Wilmington, NC - With the game tied one-all after Brian Pinder equalized in the 65th minute off an assist from Nate Pace for Cape Fear, Spartanburg Methodist used a penalty kick for the game-winner and tallied 60 seconds later to hand the Sea Devils a 3-1 setback on Friday.

"No score at half-time and we felt pretty good where we were at heading into the final 45 minutes," said CFCC Coach Chris Libert. "I'm proud of my team to battle in the game, a dead even game until an unfortunate penalty kick. It was a tough way to lose a game, but we'll refocus and look to bounce back."

Cape Fear fell to 2-4 in conference and 6-4 overall. The Sea Devils return to the pitch Wednesday, Oct. 1 with a home game against Louisburg College.
