Sea Devils Defeat Wake Tech

Wilmington, NC - Cape Fear Community College snapped a four-game skid with a dominating 3-0 result over Wake Tech at the CFCC North Campus on Wednesday night.

"It definitely feels good to get a win after the last few games," said CFCC Coach Chris Libert. "I'm proud of my team and the entire group effort"

Two Wilmington natives accounted for the Sea Devil scoring as former Laney High School standout Brian Pinder set the tone just five minutes into the match off an assist by Muhammed Jahateh. The freshman tallied for the second time early in the second half to give Cape Fear a 2-0 cushion.

Kipp Carriker assisted Pinder for the two goal lead and Myles Strickland finished the scoring in the 72nd minute when CJ Morales found the sophomore midfielder from Ashley High School.

Dakota Moore made five stops to preserve the clean sheet as the Sea Devils outshot Wake Tech 16-5 in the Region X match.

Cape Fear moved back to the .500 mark at 7-7 overall and improved to 3-6 in conference as the Sea Devils avenged an early season setback against Wake Tech. With five matches to go in the regular season Cape Fear plays two more home games and travel to Spartanburg Methodist for a 3 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 11.
